Terms & Conditions of Hire

1. Definitions

  • “Company” – Charlies UK Events Ltd, trading as Charlie’s Crazy Bouncy Castles

  • “Client / You / Hirer” – the individual or organisation making the booking

  • “Equipment” – any inflatable, soft play, machine, or hire item supplied

  • “Booking Fee” – the non-refundable fee required to secure a booking

  • “Event Date” – the date the Equipment is supplied


2. Contract Formation

2.1 A legally binding contract is formed once a booking is made and the Booking Fee is paid.

2.2 By booking, you confirm you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

2.3 If booking on behalf of a school, council, venue, or organisation, you confirm you have full authority to bind that organisation.


3. Bookings, Availability & Permissions

3.1 Availability shown online does not guarantee delivery, setup, or collection times.

3.2 Outdoor hires are delivered between 06:30–11:00 and collected from 17:00 onwards (times are estimates only).

3.3 Time-critical bookings (halls, schools, events) must be confirmed in writing before booking.

3.4 You are responsible for obtaining all permissions, approvals, and consents required for the hire.

3.5 Failure to obtain permissions or provide accurate information may result in cancellation without refund.


4. Parking, Access & Loading (Very Important)

4.1 You must provide safe, legal access for delivery, setup, and collection.

4.2 Any parking restrictions (red routes, suspended bays, permits, limited loading times) must be disclosed in writing at least 72 hours before delivery.

4.3 If access is unsafe, illegal, or likely to result in enforcement action, we may:

  • Cancel the hire without refund, and/or

  • Recover any fines, penalties, or costs incurred

4.4 Any fines or penalties caused by undisclosed or misrepresented access conditions are recoverable as a debt.


5. Payments, Card-On-File & Charges

5.1 A minimum Booking Fee is required to confirm all bookings. Booking Fees are non-refundable.

5.2 Full payment must be made no later than delivery unless agreed otherwise in writing.

5.3 By accepting these Terms, you expressly authorise us to securely store your card details via a PCI-DSS compliant provider (including Square).

5.4 You authorise us to charge the stored card without further consent for legitimate costs arising from the hire, including:

  • Outstanding balances

  • Damage, loss, or theft

  • Cleaning charges

  • Late collection or extended hire

  • Parking fines or penalties caused by your booking

5.5 All charges will be itemised, notified, and supported by evidence where applicable.

5.6 Card-on-file charges are pre-authorised payments, not penalties.

5.7 Unpaid balances after 30 days may result in recovery action and statutory interest.


6. Delivery, Setup & Responsibility

6.1 Once Equipment is delivered and our staff leave site, full responsibility transfers to you until collection.

6.2 Equipment must not be moved, repositioned, or interfered with by anyone other than our staff.

6.3 You are responsible for keeping the Equipment secure, supervised, and in good condition.


7. Power Requirements

7.1 Each inflatable requires its own RCD-protected power supply.

7.2 Unsafe, overloaded, or homemade power solutions will not be used.

7.3 Failure to provide safe power may result in cancellation without refund.


8. Weather Conditions

8.1 Inflatables cannot legally operate in winds exceeding 24mph.

8.2 Our staff’s safety decision is final.

8.3 No refunds are given once delivery is attempted due to weather.

8.4 At our discretion, a credit note may be offered (valid for 12 months).


9. Health, Safety & Supervision

9.1 Adult supervision is required at all times.

9.2 Maximum user numbers and height limits must be followed.

9.3 Prohibited on Equipment: food, drink, face paint, animals, sharp objects, confetti, balloons, or attachments.

9.4 We reserve the right to stop use if safety is compromised.


10. Damage, Loss & Cleaning

10.1 You are responsible for all loss, damage, or theft while Equipment is on hire.

10.2 Charges may include repair costs, full replacement value, cleaning fees, and loss of earnings.


11. Liability & Insurance

11.1 Use of the Equipment is entirely at your own risk.

11.2 We hold £5 million Public Liability Insurance covering the Equipment only.

11.3 Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

11.4 You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, fines, or costs arising from the hire, except where caused solely by our negligence.


12. Cancellations

12.1 Cancellations more than 48 hours before the Event Date: Booking Fee retained.

12.2 Cancellations within 24 hours, on the day, or on arrival: full balance payable.

12.3 If we cancel due to safety concerns, a credit note may be offered.

12.4 Incorrect information, unsuitable access, or lack of permissions remain chargeable.


13. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including extreme weather, accidents, breakdowns, or government restrictions.


14. Evidence, Legal Terms & Jurisdiction

14.1 We may rely on photographs, videos, GPS data, wind readings, staff logs, and delivery records as evidence.

14.2 If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remainder shall continue in effect.

14.3 Failure to enforce a right does not waive that right.

14.4 These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the parties.

14.5 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.


15. Complaints

Please raise any concerns as soon as reasonably possible so we can attempt to resolve them promptly and fairly.
